Hello!!

My name is Rodolfo Venegas Castillo. I am PhD student working on acoustic behaviour of porous material under the supervision of Dr. Olga Umnova and Prof. Y.W. Lam at the Acoustics Research Centre of the University of Salford. My PhD studies are financed through and ORSAS award.

I have got the title of Engineer in Acoustics and Sound (with unanimous distinction, First class honours) and the academic degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (First Class honours) at Universidad Tecnológica de Chile in 2006 and 2005 respectively(CV).

My Engineering thesis was entitled: Design and implementation of a spatial sound localization model using Computational Intelligence techniques (.pdf or by email) and consisted in a spatial sound localization model for broadboand sound in anechoic environment inspired on the human auditory system and implemented using Artificial Neural Network.

I was born in Santiago, Chile, and I enjoy maths, philosophy of sciences, music and recent developments in technology. You can find more details about my life, publications, research and hobbies on the corresponding web pages.
